This Town (BBC) in my town?
Main Post:
Does anyone have a clue when we might get to watch the BBC This Town series in the states w/o needing VPN or other added tech? I’ve got BritBox, and willing to buy/rent series on Apple or Amazon, but it just ain’t there. #sadFaceEmoji
Top Comment: Not sure how you can see but but I did watch it. It's really bad and boring and has almost nothing to do with ska. It's a teen drama that just happens to take place in the late 70's Britain.

All of my town has the same public IP address... Help..?
Main Post:
I don't even know if this belongs in tech support, but I just learned from some friends (and I tried it myself) that when you find your public IP address when you're connected to the internet in my town it's always the same, for everyone. This makes it very hard to play certain games online with my friends in town.
Some more info; My town is a very small City - about 3'800 people. We have 3 main ISP's. Centracom, Frontier, and Verizon (I'm not sure if Xfinity supplies here or not) One of my friends gets internet from Verizon and has the same Public IP, but my Public IP changes when I connect to my Mobile Data from Verizon. (Don't know if that's important or not but it means that sometimes I have to use my hotspot to play online and the lag is awful)
Anyway if anybody has any ideas, reasons, info, answers, I would like to hear anything. Thanks very much!

There is such a thing as cgNAT - carrier grade Network Address Translation.
NAT is what turns your 1 external (internet) IP into numerous IPs for your internal devices. The firewall / router then Translates the Network Addresses into the single address going out to the wider internet.
Because there are less IPv4 addresses than there are devices or internet customers (minus reservations) some ISPs, especially mobile or subsidized ones, will use cgNAT to connect all clients with the expectation that they will not be hosting services or needing dedicated IPs.
You can test this by having both yourself and your friend check your external IPs independently (search for "what is my ip") - if they're the same, contact your ISP to have them confirm that this is a policy of theirs, and then perhaps check your other ISPs to see what they say. It may need to be tech support person (T2 even) to answer the question.
